What to expect

From first hello to final gallery, here is exactly how your senior experience unfolds

Inquiry and Booking
You reach out, I confirm availability, and we choose your date and collection. Your retainer and contract secure the spot. You receive a welcome email with next steps.

Style Questionnaire and Planning
You complete a quick questionnaire about your vibe, locations, and outfits. I send a custom mood board with outfit ideas, a color palette, and location suggestions that match your style.

The Week of Your Session
I send a checklist and weather watch update. You steam outfits, pack a small bag, and confirm meet-up details. Backup plans are set if needed.

After Your Session
I back up your images the same day. I cull and hand edit the best images so your gallery feels cohesive and polished.

Proof Gallery
After your session, you will receive a proof gallery with the best unedited images from your shoot. This is your chance to select the photos you love most before I begin the final editing process.

Ordering Prints and Albums
Choose your favorites for prints, announcements, and an heirloom album. I design, you approve, and your artwork is delivered ready to enjoy.

Having someone with you on session day can make the experience even more enjoyable, but it is important to choose wisely. Bring one person who makes you feel confident, relaxed, and supported—this could be a parent, sibling, or close friend. Too many people can be distracting and may make it harder for you to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Who to Bring With You

Your senior session is all about you, but if you would like a few images with someone special—like a best friend, sibling, or parent—we can absolutely make time for that. Let me know in advance so we can plan when and where to include them. Limit it to one or two people so the focus stays on you and we can make the most of our session time.

Who Can Be in Photos With You

The right locations set the tone for your senior photos and help tell your story. Start by thinking about what feels most like you—are you drawn to nature, urban streets, modern architecture, or cozy, tucked-away spots? Consider the vibe you want in your images and how it will pair with your outfits. I will guide you through my favorite locations that photograph beautifully in the right light, and we can mix and match for variety. Choosing two to three spots within close distance gives you different looks without losing time to travel. The goal is to pick places where you feel comfortable, confident, and inspired so your photos feel authentic and timeless.

Your outfit choices are one of the most important parts of creating senior photos you will love for years to come. The right clothing not only photographs beautifully but also helps you feel confident and comfortable in front of the camera.

What to Wear

What to Wear

Start With Your Style

Think about how you want your photos to feel—timeless and classic, fun and trendy, or bold and fashion-forward. Your clothing should reflect your personality while also complementing the overall vibe of your session. If you’re not sure, start with outfits you already love wearing and build from there.

Pro Styling Tips

Fit is everything, so choose clothes that flatter your shape without being overly tight or baggy. Movement also makes a big difference—flowy skirts, dresses, and layered tops add life and dimension to your images. Avoid anything that might distract from your face, such as large logos, neon colors, or busy patterns. Adding texture with fabrics like lace, knit, linen, chiffon, or suede creates depth and visual interest. Finally, plan your look from head to toe by making sure your shoes, accessories, and nails complement your outfits for a polished, cohesive style.

Dressing for the Seasons

Spring/Summer
For warm-weather sessions, choose light and breathable fabrics like chiffon, linen, or cotton that move easily and keep you comfortable. Soft pastel tones, neutrals, and delicate floral patterns photograph beautifully in natural light. Sundresses, skirts, lightweight button-downs, or jeans paired with a cute top are all great options for creating a fresh, airy look.

Fall/Winter
Cooler months are perfect for cozy layers such as sweaters, jackets, and scarves that add depth and variety to your outfits. Rich tones like burgundy, mustard, forest green, and navy work beautifully against autumn leaves or winter backdrops. Incorporate boots, tights, and textured fabrics like wool, flannel, or corduroy for warmth and a seasonal touch that still looks stylish in photos.

Hair & Makeup

Professional hair and makeup can elevate your look and give you an extra boost of confidence in front of the camera. If you choose to do your own, aim for a natural, polished version of your everyday style so you still feel like yourself. Avoid trying new hairstyles or makeup trends right before your session to ensure you are comfortable with the result. Bring along a few touch-up essentials such as powder, lip color, and a brush to keep your look fresh throughout the shoot.

Accessories & Details

Accessories can elevate your look, but they should complement your outfit rather than overpower it. Jewelry works best when it adds a subtle touch—think delicate earrings, layered necklaces, or a simple bracelet. Hats can add personality and variety but are best used in just a few shots so they do not dominate the session. Belts and other small accessories can help pull a look together, creating a more polished appearance. Be sure your nails are clean and neatly polished in a neutral color to keep the focus on your face and expressions.

Props and accessories are a great way to make your senior session truly your own. Think about items that represent your hobbies, passions, or personality—like a guitar, sports gear, camera, books, or even your pet. These little details can add variety to your photos and help tell your unique story. Accessories such as hats, sunglasses, scarves, or statement jewelry can also change the vibe of an outfit without a full wardrobe change. When choosing props, aim for pieces that feel natural to you and that you can interact with comfortably, rather than items that feel forced. The goal is to add personal touches that enhance your images and make them unmistakably yours.

Props & Accessories: How to Customize Your Session

College gear is a great way to celebrate your next chapter, but instead of a basic t-shirt, I suggest choosing outfits that feel like a fun, elevated version of a college game day look. Wear colors that match your school and think stylish layers, skirts, jeans, or accessories that give a spirited yet polished vibe. For cap-and-gown photos, choose a well-fitted outfit underneath—like a dress, jumpsuit, or dress pants with a nice top—so the look is complete when the gown comes off. We will capture a mix of timeless portraits and fun, celebratory shots, from classic smiling poses to tossing your cap in the air.
